Dr Anthony R Cox is an academic, with a specialised interest in adverse drug reactions, pharmacovigilance, patients’ views of risks and benefits of medicines, and evidence based medicine. He is also interested in quackery, and the anti-vaccine movement.
He works at the University of Birmingham as a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Pharmacy with the new School of Pharmacy. He is also an honorary Pharmacovigilance Pharmacist with the Yellow Card Centre West Midlands. He holds a number of external examiner posts.
Anthony is a member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, and from 2013 to 2016 served on the Society’s English National Board.
Anthony has a lifelong interest in secularism, humanism, anti-totalitarianism, anti-extremism, and human rights. He is a member of the National Secular Society and the Humanists UK. He also likes photography, running, and cycling.
