Dr Anthony R Cox is Senior Lecturer in Clinical Pharmacy and Drug Safety, with a specialised interest in adverse drug reactions, pharmacovigilance, patients’ views of risks and benefits of medicines, and medication errors.

He works at the University of Birmingham within the School of Pharmacy. He is also an honorary Pharmacovigilance Pharmacist with the Yellow Card Centre West Midlands. He holds a number of external examiner posts. Anthony is on the editorial board of the International Journal of Pharmacy Practice and the Journal of Clinical Pharmacy and Therapeutics. He has recently successfully bid for the Pharmacy Research UK‘s Health Services Research and Pharmacy Practice Conference, which will be hosted at the University of Birmingham in April 2019.

Anthony is a Fellow of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, and from 2013 to 2016 served on the Society’s English National Board. He is also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Anthony has a lifelong interest in secularism, humanism, anti-totalitarianism, anti-extremism, and human rights. He is a member of the National Secular Society and the Humanists UK.
