UKIP and MMR

A fascinating nugget about UKIP in The Economist:

on a non-political issue, more UKIP voters were inclined to think the MMR jab (for mumps, measles and rubella) was unsafe, and a staggering 13% thought it was certainly harmful; a view not shared by any measurable proportion of voters for other parties.”

They also found that only 4% of UKIP supporters trusted politicians to tell the truth (compared to a lamentable 20% in the general population). The two things are no doubt related.
